About Us

Persatuan Penggiat Seni & Kebudayaan Malaysia, Kuching @ The Malaysia Arts Cultural Practitioners Association - MACPA was established since 2010. We implemented the framework accordance 2003 Convention modules for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH), we operate the ‘ICH MALAYSIA’ supported by Sarawak Government. 

Our direction are preserving ICH element to provide and sharing information. Enhance essential network building and raising awareness to the community. Malaysia is dedicated to fostering community development and engagement through innovative programs and activities.

Our mission is to empower individuals and groups to collaborate for a better future, bridging gaps and building lasting relationships.

Our Vision is to portray Malaysian heritage, the implementation and safeguarding in line with the International Standard and Human Right.

Exploring MACPA: Our Mission and Activities

To document, inventorying, safeguard, conserve and preserve Intangible Cultural Heritage including the development and dissemination of ‘good practices’ and innovation.

Our Active Role

To promote the collaboration of Intangible Cultural Heritage at local, national and international levels, and the recognition of individuals, groups and communities who practice cultural heritage in various substances.

• Representing Malaysia in the GPDNET (Global Public Diplomacy Network) meeting - Qatar Malaysia has been appointed for full membership of GPDNET.


2020, November

• Organised Anugerah Seniman Muzik Sarawak 2020 to give recognition to Sarawakian Artist who have shown outstanding character,authority and contribution in the field of arts in Sarawak.


2020, December

• Organised Sarawak Music and Fashion Galore (SAMFAG) 2020 to initiate and avenue to uplift and expose the uniqueness of Songket in music and fashion whilst supporting Jabatan Warisan Negara in documenting ICH Representative List UNESCO Nomination.


2022, June

• Hosted 3rd ICHLinks Executive Committee Meeting with members from 12 Partner Organisations (Bhutan, Cambodia, Fiji, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Vietnam) at Dewan Undangan Negeri Sarawak.


2022, June

• Organised ICH Humanity & Community Awards as a recognition for Sarawak’s Leaders and communities at the international level in its contribution to safeguard the cultural heritage of Sarawak.


2022, November (MACPA, MALAYSIA - BUSAN IT PROMOTIONAL AGENCY-BIPA, KOREA)

• Representing Sarawak, Malaysia as traine to Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency (BIPA) the 2022 ASEAN-ROK XR Professional Training Program from 28th Nov – 2nd Dec, 2022.

• The purpose of this event is to raise awareness in ASEAN of the ‘ASEAN-ROK ICT Convergence Village Project’, and create concrete cooperative measures for the development of the XR and Metaverse industries throughout ASEAN nations.
